    Preliminary work has been taking place in the vicinity of Holly Parade in the High Street, with the main development activity scheduled to start in June. (May 2017

  3. BUS SERVICES

    Council funded bus services have recently been put out to tender by Surrey County Council for operations from this September when the current contracts come to an end.  Meanwhile, the services will remain operating as at present. (May 2017)  

  4. MEALS ON WHEELS SERVICE

    The Cobham Centre for the Community on Oakdene Road is experiencing a high demand for Meals on Wheels volunteers. This service delivers more than a meal as it is also a wellbeing check and a friendly face. CDRA's Action on Planning

Some applications the CDRA has objected to recently:

  • 70-bed car home at Painshill Farm
  • Petrol station and convenience store at San Domenico, Portsmouth Road
  • 1-7 Holly Parade re-development
  • Esso Garage 24 hour opening and extra signs
  • Inclusion of former Wisley Airfield in Guildford Local Plan
  • 11 Icklingham Road - new, much larger house in place of existing
  • White Lodge, Hogshill Lane - 2 houses in place of 1
  • Running Mare, Tilt Road - Portacabin for taxi business in carpark (Refused and gone to appeal - further objection sent)
  • Esso Garage 24 hour licence

CDRA representatives regularly attend Elmbridge Planning Meetings as spectators and our Planning Officer has spoken at West Area Planning Committee Meetings on a number of occasions on behalf of residents against a planning application.

CDRA representatives have attended workshops held by Elmbridge Borough Council to contribute to the development of the latest planning policies and framework.

The CDRA, CCHT and Chamber of Commerce have jointly set up the Cobham Green Belt Group to promote and encourage the retention of the Green Belt in and around Cobham, keeping local people informed about Green Belt issues.
